Women Disciple Makers: Why We’re Here

When Jesus walked the earth, He didn’t choose the most educated, wealthy, or powerful people to follow Him. Instead, He called ordinary men and women—fishermen, tax collectors, friends, sisters, and mothers—to walk with Him, learn from Him, and then go share the good news with others. That same invitation extends to us today.I’ve learned over time that being a disciple isn’t just about attending church or reading my Bible (though both are important). True discipleship is about following Jesus so closely that His words shape my thoughts, His Spirit directs my steps, and His mission becomes my mission. And it’s about helping others do the same.

My Journey to Disciple Making

When I first became a Christian, I thought my faith was mostly about personal growth—learning the Bible, praying, and trying to live a good life. But I didn’t fully understand that God expected transformation, not just attendance. For years I lived with “one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom.”Through trials, life changes, and deeper study of Scripture, the Holy Spirit began showing me that my faith wasn’t meant to stay private. It was meant to multiply. Slowly, I began to obey those small nudges: share a verse, pray with a friend, tell someone my story.

Disciple making is just ordinary women walking alongside one another, pointing each other to Jesus.

Why “Women Disciple Makers” Exists

This ministry was born out of a longing to see women equipped and confident to make disciples in their homes, neighborhoods, and communities. Many of us feel unqualified—“I don’t know enough,” “I’m too busy,” or “That’s someone else’s calling.” But Scripture tells us otherwise:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19–20

Jesus’ words weren’t directed only to church leaders or missionaries. They were given to all of us. Women, too, are called to multiply—to raise up disciples who make disciples. Women Disciple Makers is here to create a space where we can:- Encourage one another in our faith.- Learn practical ways to start disciple-making conversations.- Share our stories of transformation.- Grow together into women who confidently show Jesus to the world.

Starting Small, Dreaming Big

You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t need a title, a platform, or a perfect past. All you need is a willing heart and the courage to take the next step.Maybe that means inviting a neighbor for coffee.Maybe it means asking a friend to read the Bible with you.Maybe it means gathering two or three women to walk with you for a season of growth. We call these small groups “Tricords” 3 - 4 women who intentionally gathering to create a safe space for real spiritual growth. From these Tricords, the ripple effect begins. Women pour into each other, and those women then pour into 3 or 4 others. This is the multiplication impact Jesus designed.

You Are Not Alone

The journey of disciple making is not always easy, but it is always worth it. And you don’t have to do it alone. This website, this Movement, and this community are here to walk with you. My prayer is that as you explore Women Disciple Makers, you’ll be inspired, equipped, and encouraged to step boldly into the calling God has given you. Together, we will learn, grow, and multiply—so that the next generation and the one after that will know the transforming power of Jesus.Let’s begin this journey—together.
